Pulled up!

Do you ever get pulled up short? You know the feeling, when you do something and then realise that you did something similar not so long ago? Well that happened to me today. I try and do my quiet time every day. Try being the word! So after a very hectic morning at the Craft Club I have been sitting down having a brief surf before focusing on my bible passage. Matthew 6 v25 to 34. ‘Do not worry’. Hhhhhmmmmm

I should have known He would pull me up short. Yes I have been worrying. For quite a while now my brain just won’t stop thinking. Mulling things over, and over again. STOP! I want to get off! You know what I mean – that sort of feeling. So to open my Bible and see the title ‘Do not worry’, well it just spoke. And the last verse…

“34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

And,  the thing that I had done before? I chose a verse for the year here something to hang on to in those uppity moments. The notes that go with my quiet time passage had a similar verse, reminding me to hang on to it.

“1 Chronicles 16:34, “Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.”

So what have I learnt or been reminded of today? To focus on Him seeking His kingdom and His righteousness, to leave our struggles in God’s hands, “and give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love and mercy endures for ever”.

He is the key to peaceful living.

003Do not worry. 🙂

It’s wonderful to find another Christian who is also into crochet and crafting! I too love to have my quiet time each morning with The Lord. It so helps the day with thankfulness to Him. Worry is like a boomerang I often hand it over and then take it back again. `Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid’ is a lovely easy for me to remember quote John14 v.27. God bless
