Slingsby

We’ve been away in our little ‘home on wheels’.  Just a short drive away, but away.  To a little campsite in a little village called Slingsby.  We’ve been here before.  Several times.  Firstly in our trailer tent, then our folding camper, and now in our caravan.  We love it.  Quiet.  Peaceful.  Small.    Just right for a little van.  Despite it being a little chilly and a little damp, we barbecued and sat outside, putting the world to rights with our friends.  Laughing and joking and sipping.  Looking at the most amazing sun sets.

During the afternoon I went walking.  Just a gentle walk around the village with my camera at the ready to catch the action.  Not a lot of action in a sleepy Saturday village, but oh it was pretty!

Out of the gate…

Passed the climbers…

Around the corner…

Through the graveyard – as you do…..

Isn’t the ivy exquisite?  On into the church…

Being drawn to a tiny window…

One lasting look….

Before side walking passed the castle ruins.  Have you ever tried side walking?  No?  Give it a go!

Trying different camera settings….

Peeping at the sheep ….

And staring them out …..

Round another corner back to the village green, with it’s May Pole…..

And bright red pillar box. Model train set houses…..

Another shot of red…

A glance up to the sky ….

Then wending our way back to the campsite and that cup of tea……
