Sketch/ideas books.
The following images are taken from my sketch books. My ideas book where I stick, and cut, and note, and make initial drawings. The one that is full of magazine colours and things that I like. The one where I doodle and wander. Then there is my layout/thinking book. The book where I extend an initial idea. Where I add form to the doodles, wrapping them up in colour and line. And lastly, I have my project book where the idea is taken to the making stage, the pattern stage, the doing stage. The stage when I can say ‘yes. yes, yes, I think I’ve got it!’ All three interweave and should be seen as a complete record. A whole thought process. So have fun browsing and any comments will be gratefully received.
Please note, as this is the start of a new year for a new me, the third book has yet to be started. The first book has been going on and off for the past year, with an occasional work out in the second book. The thinking and cogitating outlined in my New Year’s post on my main page, has extended me, pushed me into putting my ideas down on paper. I know I am going to have fun. I hope you will too in your creative splurges!!

Wow…your books are great. I wish I could be that organised, I tend ot leave badly scribbled notes around the house that I then throw out a few days later mistaking them for rubbish
Sadly they have been languishing on the shelves. Perhaps this is the spur to get going again with designing…… we’ll see.
